In celebration of Cinco de Mayo, we'd like to invite you to join us at Friendly Chevrolet this Saturday, May 4th, from 11-2PM, for street tacos and Topo Chico. Contrary to popular belief, Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico's Independence Day. It's actually the anniversary of the Battle of Puebla, when the Mexican army defeated France in 1862. Today, the United States celebrates Cinco de Mayo more extensively than Mexico itself. The holiday started to be celebrated in the U.S. after President Roosevelt created the "Good Neighbor Policy" in 1933 to improve relations with Latin American countries.
